Outside Markets

Asian stocks traded mostly lower on Thursday. Investors in Japan took profits after the Nikkei closed at its highest level since 2008 Wednesday, with Thursday's index ending down .9%. European stocks are trading higher. The Canadian TSX closed at 12,761.59, up 15.94 in Wednesday's trade. Dow futures are 25 points higher overnight which should lead to a firm open in Thursday's North American trade. The Canadian dollar is 12 basis points higher at $1.0042 CAD/U.S. dollar. The U.S. dollar is .117 lower at 79.650. Crude oil is up 26 cents to $96.88/barrel, while Brent crude is 91 cents ...
