Outside Markets

Asian stocks closed higher on Wednesday. Japans' Nikkei closed 3.8% higher, with the yen hitting a 3-year low. European indices are mostly lower. Canada's TSX closed 28.03 higher in Tuesday's trade, ending the session at 12,745.65. Dow futures are 42 points higher which should be supportive to Wednesday's equity markets. The Canadian dollar is 21 basis points lower, currently trading at $1.0013 CAD/U.S. dollar. The U.S. dollar is .297 higher, at 79.840, which will act to curb commodity prices. Gold is down $.80/ounce at $1,671.60. NYMEX crude is $.74 lower at $95.90/barrel, while Brent crude is $.39 lower ...
