Outside Markets

Asian markets are trading mixed on Monday, with Japan's Nikkei closing .6% higher. European markets traded mostly lower. The Canadian TSX equity market closed 83.59 higher at 12,768.83 in Friday's trading session. In overnight trade, Dow futures were 17 points lower, which should lead to a lower opening in North American markets Monday. The Canadian dollar is up 12 basis points to $1.0032 CAD/U.S. dollar, while the U.S. dollar is up .365 to 13.913. Gold is $6.90 lower, at $1,662.50/mt. Crude oil is $.98 lower at $96.79.
