Outside Markets

Asian markets traded higher Wednesday, following the lead of the U.S. market which is rallying on positive earnings reports. European markets are mostly lower. Canada's TSX equity market gained 14.65 points to close at 12,830.56 in Tuesday's trade. The overnight Dow futures are unchanged, which may lead to a steady open in Wednesday's North American markets. The Canadian dollar is up 5 basis points to $.9971 CAD/U.S. dollar. The U.S. dollar is .159 lower at 79.465. Gold is $2 higher at $1,662.80/ounce. NYMEX crude is $98.11/barrel, up $.50, while Brent crude is up $.67 to $115.02/barrel. European rapeseed ...
