Outside Markets

Asian equity markets are mostly lower in Friday's trade. Japan's Nikkei closed up 2.9% as the Yen, their currency, fell. European markets traded mostly higher on higher-than-expected business confidence data within Germany. Canada's TSX closed at 12,823.62, up 29.57 points in Friday's trade. Dow futures were up 40 points overnight to 13,821, signaling what should be a positive open in Friday's North American equity markets.
