Asian markets traded higher on Thursday on better than expected Purchase Manager's Index data from China. China's PMI climbed to 51.9 in January, a two-year high and up from 51.5 last month. The index has now risen for the past five months. Japan's Nikkei closed up 1.3%. European markets closed mostly lower. Canada's TSX equity market closed at 12,794.05, down 30.58 points in Wednesday's trade. Dow futures are 6 points higher, indicating a steady open in Thursday's North American markets.
