EU Grain Harvest Up

(Dow Jones) -- Kazakhstan is finishing this year's grain harvest with yields higher than in 2012. Russia's grain harvest yields are also higher compared with last year because of better weather.

Rains delayed the early campaign to gather the crops in Kazakhstan, but the situation has since normalized and the harvest to Nov. 7 totaled 20.7 million metric tons on 15.56 million hectares, or 98.6% of the total area to be harvested, with the average yield of 1.33 tons a hectare, the agricultural ministry said.
