MOSCOW (Dow Jones) -- Ukraine's grain harvest is lagging 19.3% behind last year's volumes after crops were affected by drought.

Since harvesting began in mid-June to Nov. 26, Ukraine harvested 45.27 million metric tons of grain on 14.4 million hectares of land. That's 97% of the total area set for harvesting, while the average yield was 3.14 tons a hectare, the agriculture ministry reported Monday.

During the same period last year the harvest was 56.1 million tons on 15.07 million hectares, and the average yield was 3.72 tons/ha, the ministry said.
