GENERAL COMMENTS:

Cash cattle trade remains at a standstill at this time with only a few bids evident in parts of the North (i.e. $239 to $240 basis Nebraska). Asking prices remain firm at $152 to $153 in the South and $246 in the North. Significant trade volume may be delayed until late this afternoon. According to the midday report, the national hog base is $1.27 lower on a light test compared with the Prior Day settlement ($109.00-$130.00, weighted average $125.34). The corn market is 2 to 5 cents lower at midday.
