GENERAL COMMENTS:

Cautious bids are scattered across parts of cattle feeding country near midday (e.g., $147 in Kansas, $239 in Nebraska), but hardly anything likely to whet the selling appetites of feedlot managers who continue to price showlists around $153 in the South and $246-plus in the North. According to the midday report, the national hog base is $2.24 lower on a light test compared with the Prior Day settlement ($123.86-129.00, weighted average $124.57).
