GENERAL COMMENTS:

Livestock futures are mixed at midday with moderate losses holding in lean hog futures. Moderate to strong gains in cattle futures the bright spot of the complex as commercial buying seems to be eager to step back into nearby contracts. Corn futures are higher at midday. September corn futures are holding 3 cent gains at midday. Stock markets are mixed in light trade. The Dow Jones is 22 points lower while Nasdaq is up 4 points.
