GENERAL COMMENTS:

Pressure in live cattle markets are being offset by the strong support in lean hog futures. Traders in hog futures are focusing on renewed cash market support as well as potentially tight supplies. Corn futures are lower at midday. September corn futures are holding 3 cent losses at midday. Stock markets are higher in light trade. The Dow Jones is 157 points higher while Nasdaq is up 8 points.
