GENERAL COMMENTS:

Signs of life in cattle country are limited to a few scattered bids of $121 in the South and $192-$193 in the North. Significant trade volume should be postponed until sometime Friday. According to the midday report, the National hog base compared with the Prior Day's closing weighted average is $2.03 higher ($86.00 to $96.92, weighted average $92.54). The corn trade has turned increasingly defensive following the USDA's new supply and demand table just released that raised the 2013-2014 carryout to 1.855 billion bushels (the average guess was 1.697 billion). December and March contracts are now trading 14-16 ...
