According to the midday report, the National hog base compared with the Prior Day's closing weighted average is $4.07 lower ($85.00 to $99.00, weighted average $94.51). Note that this test of negotiated dressed business seems quite light with only 3,291 head reported. The cash cattle market is typically quiet for a Monday with packers limiting efforts to the collection of new showlists.
