GENERAL COMMENTS:

Livestock futures are trading mixed to mostly higher at midday. The pressure in outside markets and the focus on upcoming demand growth for meat is helping to entice traders to step back to the plate. Live cattle futures continue to led the market, with sharp nearby contract support. Corn futures are trading mixed in light trade at midday. May corn futures are holding 1 cent gains at midday. Stock markets are lower in light trade. The Dow Jones is 64 points lower while Nasdaq is down 15 points.
