GENERAL COMMENTS:

Livestock futures are under pressure Friday. The softness in outside markets is causing traders to remain cautious. Sharp losses in the soybean complex are led by headlines surrounding bird flu. This as well as weaker-than-expected job placements is causing meat demand caution. Corn futures are trading lower in light at midday in light trade. May corn futures are holding 1 cent losses at midday. Stock markets are lower in light trade. The Dow Jones is 97 points lower while Nasdaq is down 34 points.
