GENERAL COMMENTS:

Livestock futures are mixed in a wide price range at midday. Technical support kicked into the live cattle futures market through the morning with June futures contracts defending the $121 per cwt threshold. This has created triple-digit gains in both live-cattle and feeder-cattle futures. Lean hog futures are sharply lower, unable to sustain Tuesday's rally. Corn futures are trading higher at midday in light trade. May corn futures are holding 5 cent gains at midday. Stock markets are lower in light trade. The Dow Jones is 44 points lower while Nasdaq is down 7 points.
