GENERAL COMMENTS:

Sharp losses are seen through the feeder cattle futures market during late morning. This renewed selling activity has caused sharp losses in the live cattle futures, and quickly eroded any stability in the lean hog complex. Corn futures are trading higher at midday in light trade. May corn futures are holding 5 cents higher at midday. Stock markets are lower in light trade. The Dow Jones is 34 points down while Nasdaq is down 16 points.
