GENERAL COMMENTS:

Light trade has been seen through most of the morning. Traders are focusing on the lack of support in both cash and wholesale meat values, which is pressuring both cattle and hog futures. Trade volume is likely to remain sluggish. Most of the industry is focusing on the winter storm system moving through the Midwest. Corn futures are trading lower at midday in light trade. March corn futures are holding 7 cent losses at midday. Stock markets are lower in light trade. The Dow Jones is 74 points lower while Nasdaq is down 36 points.
