GENERAL COMMENTS:

Livestock futures are mixed at midday following moderate to sharp early trade. The lack of follow-through seller interest during late morning has eased market pressure, although there still remains looming uncertainty concerning short- and long-term demand projections. Corn futures are trading lower at midday in light trade. March corn futures are holding 8 cent losses at midday. Stock markets are lower in light trade. The Dow Jones is 84 points lower while Nasdaq is down 15 points.
