GENERAL COMMENTS:

Cattle feeding country is at a standstill following light to moderate business in the South on Wednesday. Other then a few bids of $198-199 in the North and $125 in the South, buying interest has been very difficult to uncover. Given firm asking prices and wary packer attitudes, significant trade volume may not resurface until sometime Friday. According to the midday report, the Iowa hog base is $2.14 higher compared with the Prior Day settlement ($77.00-91.00, weighted average $88.98).
