GENERAL COMMENTS:

Moderate to strong gains have quickly developed through the cattle complex with both live cattle and feeder cattle futures holding triple-digit gains at midday. Buyers are focusing on the oversold status of the market last week and quickly jumped back into the market following the long weekend. Corn futures are trading higher at midday in light trade. March corn futures are holding 1 cent gains at midday. Stock markets are mixed in light trade. The Dow Jones is 29 points higher while Nasdaq is down 5 points.
