GENERAL COMMENTS:

Moderate to strong selling pressure has developed thorugh the live cattle futures market focusing on the lack of support in outside markets as well as sluggish boxed beef values early in the week. Lean hog futures remain mixed, but have worked lower through the morning, directed by the pressure in the live cattle futures. Corn futures are trading lower at midday in light trade. December corn futures are holding 5 cent losses at midday. Stock markets are lower in light trade. The Dow Jones is 9 points lower while Nasdaq is down 12 points.
