GENERAL COMMENTS:

Sharp losses quickly developed in nearby live cattle futures contracts Friday morning as profit taking at the end of the month appears to be the main order of business. It is uncertain if additional volume will develop through the end of the session. Corn futures are trading lower at midday in light trade. December corn futures are holding 8 cent loss at midday. Stock markets are lower in light trade. The Dow Jones is 13 points lower while Nasdaq is down 6 points.
