With the bullishly-construed stocks report behind us, we got the first revised acreage estimate of 2013 last Friday from Informa Economics. Their survey suggests corn acres rose 300,000 to 99.3 million acres and soybeans dropped 138,000 -- both from last month's estimate. The over 2 million acre increase for corn had two specific state standouts that accounted for about 70% of the increase -- North Dakota up 700,000 acres and South Dakota up 450,000 acres vs. 2012 USDA numbers.

Other interesting acreage figures showed Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, and Minnesota all showing collective increases of 350,000 acres with Nebraska unchanged. Missouri ...
