CFTC Delays Swaps Vote

WASHINGTON (Dow Jones) -- The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission delayed a vote on establishing trading venues for the complex derivatives that exacerbated the 2008 financial crisis, as the agency's swing vote voiced concerns about plan's market repercussions.

With the CFTC divided between Democrats and Republicans, the final form a rule on swaps trading may be shaped by a swing vote from Mark Wetjen, a Democrat who so far hasn't weighed in on the October draft rule.
