Chilton Seeks Alternatives to Rule

SAN FRANCISCO (DTN) -- CFTC Commissioner Bart Chilton wants to make sure customers are protected if another futures commission merchant fails; but he also wants to address industry concerns about the expense of a CFTC-proposed rule on customer protections.

"My mantra is protecting consumers," he told DTN in an interview on the sidelines of the National Grain and Feed Association annual convention. "I want to figure out a way to do that.
