That may sound like a stolid warning from Mr. Spock, an intergalactic heads-up to Captain Kirk and crew that trouble is on the way. With the Enterprise's on-board computer about to lock up, one can only hope Klingons are not within striking distance.

Yet the alarm I sound is tied to the dangerous inter-space of USDA reports, those black holes of commodity enumeration where extreme bureaucratic density has been known to swallow all rays of market light.
