GENERAL COMMENTS

Livestock futures are holding strong gains in the cattle complex with front-month August live cattle futures leading the market higher with a $2.70 per cwt rally in the minutes before opening pit trade. There is uncertainty about just how much additional buyer support will develop through the morning and if this level of cattle market support can be sustained through the entire session. Corn futures are trading higher in early electronic trade. Stock markets are trading lower. Dow Jones Index is 5 points lower, while Nasdaq is down 3 points.
