Though feedlot country seemed dead quiet through the day, Mandatory reported 4,000 head in Nebraska sold at $164, nearly $1 higher than that state's weighted average last week. Asking prices were restated around $164-$165 in the South and $260-plus in the North. According to the closing report, the Iowa hog base is $0.56 lower compared with the Prior Day settlement ($106.00-$119.00, weighted average $116.15). Corn futures rallied 6-7 cents, following both wheat and beans as nervous traders reacted to Russian troops mounting on the Ukraine border.
