As expected, the cash cattle trade was a nonevent Tuesday with virtually no bids reported throughout the feeding areas. Some asking prices were voiced around $164-$165 in the South and $265-plus in the North. According to the closing report, the Iowa hog base is $3.32 lower compared with the Prior Day settlement ($107.00-$118.50, weighted average $116.77). Corn futures ended 2-3 cents lower, pressured by crop-friendly weather outlooks.
