Mid-winter in rural areas is a time when farmers focus much of their attention on bookwork, shop work and keeping snow cleared from their lanes. I know some of you in the Eastern Corn Belt have had to push quite a bit of snow so far this winter, but those of us in the Western Corn Belt have had to do very little of this chore.
