Josh Bishop became interested in cover crops when he heard they were good nutrient recyclers. Sensing a learning curve around the corner, the Dana, Ind., grain farmer did what most growers do when a new agronomic practice becomes popular: He attended a cover crop meeting.

He returned home from the event with more than a folder full of reading material. At the Indiana Conservation Partnership-sponsored meeting, Bishop learned of a program designed to give farmers one-on-one coaching as they adopt new conservation practices.
