Driving toward the North Dakota Bankers Association's Ag Credit Conference last week, I thought how nice it must be for the state's farmers to have their wheat and row crops and sunflowers and canola and sugar beets all have different paces of maturity, different responses to the season's weather, and different harvest timeframes. More importantly, I was reminded of the power of diversification in the markets themselves.
