OMAHA (DTN) -- Thousands of intermittent water bodies including those on U.S. farms currently not regulated in the Clean Water Act could be regulated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency under a new rule. Before that happens, though, a scientific advisory board is reviewing a new EPA report on water connectivity and a new rule must be finalized.

The advisory board that includes 27 scientists primarily from academia has set a series of public meetings Dec. 16-18 in Washington, D.C. The board will begin a review of the 331-page EPA report that outlines the state of science on water connectivity. ...
