As I approach retirement, I'm frequently asked what I believe will be the major drivers of change for U.S. agriculture. After giving it a lot of thought, I came up with 12 factors that I think need to be part of every famer's long-term strategic planning process. I will briefly look at six of the factors in this article and wrap it up in the next column.
