LANGDON, Mo. (DTN) -- Known first as Decoration Day, Memorial Day is a federal holiday reserved for honoring deceased U.S. veterans. It is also an unofficial beginning of summer vacation season, marked by road trips and family outings. But for DTN View From the Cab Farmers Kane Bercaw of Union City, Mich., and William "Shep" Sheppard of Louisiana, Mo., Memorial weekend was a working holiday.
