I am a week later with this column than I normally would be, as I have been trying to write my Vintage Iron the last week of each month.

The last part of July is county fair time in our home county of Washington County, Nebraska. This year was my 8-year-old son Kyle's first year in 4-H, so we spent most of last week at the fairgrounds in Arlington, which is roughly 25 miles northwest of Omaha.
