House, Senate Move on CFTC

OMAHA (DTN) -- The Commodity Futures Trading Commission topped the Senate and House Agriculture Committees' agendas last week, and each body took steps that will shape the future of the commission and its tense relationship with the grain industry.

On Tuesday, the Senate Agriculture Committee approved a slate of nominees to fill three vacancies on the commission's leadership team. None of them have a background in agriculture. The full Senate still needs to confirm the nominees.
