LAWRENCE, Kan. (DTN) -- If you're planting soybeans this spring, the risk of losing yield to soybean cyst nematodes could be higher than usual, particularly for Iowa growers, according to Iowa State plant pathologist Greg Tylka.

Tylka urged growers to consider testing, even if they have already ordered seeds. "It is not too late to sample fields for the presence of SCN," he told DTN in an e-mail. "Farmers may be able to switch varieties that have been ordered within a company to get resistant soybean varieties for the fields which they discover are infested with SCN."
