General Comments:

The corn market was higher on reports that Pro Farmer crop scouts saw disappointing corn prospects in north central Iowa as dry conditions this past month have stressed the crops. The average yield reported by scouts was at 148.5. Final national average estimates from the 2014 Pro Farmer Midwest Crop Tour will be released around midday Friday. Front-month soybean futures were higher as processors in need of supplies to last until harvest continue to pay up for cash soybeans. Since one week ago Monday, basis has been sharply stronger.
