General Comments:

Even though the Pro Farmer Midwest Crop Tour found better yields in Ohio and South Dakota than the USDA estimated, the market wasn't surprised. There is more concern right now over conditions in some areas where dry weather may be taking a toll on the crop. The USDA reported that 72% of crop is in good or excellent condition, versus 73% the prior week and versus 75% on July 28.
