Corn closed lower as forecasts for rain in the central Midwest are expected to further boost crop conditions. There are some areas in the western Midwest that may miss the rains and will begin to show signs of yield loss. But expectations for the Corn Belt to produce a record corn crop continue to pressure the market. The soybean futures were sharply lower heading into the weekend as weather conditions remain nearly perfect for the crop development.
