The local ethanol plant has a slick LED display out by the highway, flashing details of their latest DP program and the daily cash bid for corn. Every commuter, truck driver and vacationing family on their way out to the Black Hills can see the ethanol plant would pay you $3.51 per bushel for a load of standard No. 2 yellow corn today with no other discounts. A few miles later, those same drivers might glance over at the gas station in town and note another sign advertising another price: $3.509 for a gallon of 87-octane gasoline.
