AMMONIA

World ammonia prices moved slightly lower through May. Early, Yuzhnyy prices held firm at around $505 to $515 mton fob as there was some tightness in supply from the closure of two FSU ammonia export plants. Late in the month, Yuzhnyy prices were trading at $500 to $512. There is continued uncertainty over how political tensions in eastern Ukraine might affect export ammonia production in addition to threats of gas curtailments by Russia.
