DTN Distillers Grain Weekly Update

The continued downward trend in prices of dried distillers grains with solubles is due largely to a lack of export interest in recent weeks and has caused some price volatility in recent months.

The value of DDGS has fallen as much as $20 per ton in the past few weeks, according to Chrissy Gothke, associate DDG merchant for The Andersons, Inc. in Maumee, Ohio. Prices tracked by DTN concur, as the DTN weekly distillers grains spot price average has fallen for eight consecutive weeks, and at $201 per ton, is the lowest since early February.
