Reports continue to indicate that milk production is declining seasonally, but the milk production report released earlier this week does not bear that out. Milk production is not declining seasonally, but rather has been increasing. July showed the strongest milk production increase of the year. So, one has to wonder why reports indicate weakening production. This is likely specific to areas across the country that has been dealing with hot weather with milk production down from the levels experienced earlier when weather was cooler, but it is not down seasonally relative to last year.
