Milk futures were mixed into the close with contracts through November steady to lower while later contracts were higher. USDA released the June "Milk Production" report indicating milk production in the top 23 states increased 2.0% over last year. Production per cow averaged 1,888 pounds. The number of cows on farms totaled 8.57 million head, up 11,000 head from May. Milk production in the U.S. increased 1.9% from last year.
