Temperatures are variable across the country with some areas feeling the effects of hot weather with lower price production and reduced components. Other areas are experiencing hot weather during the day, but cooler nights allow cows to recover keeping milk production relatively steady. Year-to-date milk production in California is reported 4.6% above the same period last year. Overall milk production is higher across the country as fewer cows are being culled and feed is being pushed to them allowing for increasing production.
