Historic Ranch Trades Hands

CLAYTON, N.M. (DTN) -- Saturday was an emotional day for Richard and Connie Snyder as the couple saw generations of memories from their ranch auctioned off.

A gracious couple, the Snyders were welcoming everyone and visiting with old friends, but their eyes would well up when talking about the ranch and their lives in northeast New Mexico.

"It will be good when we can get through this day," Connie said.

After 74 years, the Snyder family sold their nearly 30,000-acre ranch earlier this year to pack up and move their thoroughbred-horse ranch to Kentucky
